July 2: Third Day in Nice and the boys have settled in nicely. I don't know how Tyler sleeps backwards and Tanner hugging the armrest, but whatever works. They are hard to wake in the morning so I guess they are sleeping soundly.

The mosquito nets over the girls beds are failing miserably. They wished they kept out the sound of the African drums on the Promenade until 3 a.m., but they don't.

This is our bedroom. Todd was not thrilled at first, but it is kind of fun now. We have a window that opens up in the ceiling and we can fall asleep looking at the stars.

We decided to try another beach and town close by this morning. All the towns are lined up along the Cote D'Azur and it is hard to know when one starts and one ends. This town is called Villefranche and is about a 30 minute bus ride east of Nice.

Our view from the walk down.

Ty and Tan loving the water.

This is the sand, not really sand, but better than rocks, and almost sand. Just a few thousand more years and it might look like Malibu.

We don't mind. The views are worth a couple of rocks in the shoes, or for Tanner, in the pants.

We decided to make camp for the day here.

Tanner got busy building a castle with rocks since we forgot the bag of toys and balls. This kid can make-believe with anything.

Of course, Todd has to make it a triathlon course. He can't stand just sitting around ever. He talked Tyler into going on a swim with him and here they are.

And Tan Man wonders why his shorts fill with all sorts of extras? I don't wonder when he spends his day on the beach like this.
