We decided to head out and see La Tour Eiffel at night. At 1,000 feet tall, the only reason for the Eiffel Tower was to impress visitors to The World's Fair in 1889. The entrance to the grounds passed under the Tower. Gustave Eiffel, a bridge-builder, won the appointment to build the monument which commemorated the World's Fair but also the 100 year celebration of The French Revolution.

The first set of lights just went on. It is about 9:30 p.m. and still looks like dusk.

Now, it is all lit up. What a sight.

Can you tell it has been a long day? Brittany can still creak out a smile. My smile has left the building. Ooh, it may be my seriously Todd look cause he is laughing trying to take another creeper picture of me.

The Hotel De Ville at night.

Aah, it's a miracle. We told them they would not be getting the Kindles for a couple of days if they were fighting when we got home. Lucky for them, it was nighttime, otherwise they would have been in trouble for sure.
