All along the coast are cliffs. The rock outcroppings vary in kind, but not greatly. Not sure what this rock is, but it resembles lava or pumice in places and limestone in other. The contrast of the black and white against the blue in stunning. Not a bad day's hike.

Tanner was our explorer today. Whenever he found a set of stairs that was not blocked off by a locked gate, he would wander down and see what he could find. This was one of those finds.

After he posed for me, he had to take care of business though. That may have been the main reason for this stop and not exploration.

I just kept saying to myself to put one foot infront of the other, and soon we would be there.

The kids are starting to suffer from heat stroke; therefore, they are lacking common sense and have started posing at the corner turns. We didn't see many people on this side of the penninsula so we had this road to Rome to ourselves. Nobody else was as lost as we were so they didn't have to go down this road.

Brittany was sick, Kylie was sunburnt, Tanner is too light to carry anything more than his body weight, and Tyler had gotten two bee stings at the prior swim stop. Todd was already carrying the fanny backpack; so, by default I got both backpacks. No worries, just makes me glad I will never be pregnant again.

Ty Guy was feeling the affects of the bee stings on his neck and his back. He was a sad little boy.

You would think he was a fish or something. He was always getting in the water. We should have just tied a rope to him and drug him along the coast for the eight miles.

Tanner joined him on this one because they had a cool ladder to climb down into the water. A lot of the stops did because the drop offs into the water were steep and rocky.

Tyler, at a swimming stop not looking like he wants to swim. We got him some advil, food, and water after this and he perked up a lot.

We are now about four miles into the trek around what seems like the entire French Riviera. Much more hiking, and we will have hiked all the way back to Nice.
