In the Place Rossetti is a family, the Fenocchio. They have been making ice cream since 1925. Three generations have perfected the art of gelato which is more than ice cream. They have over a hundred flavors and its hard to get an order in the store is so busy all hours of the day.
Choices here are tomato and basil, black olive, thyme, beer, and rosemary. All staple flavors of Italy.
If the flavors of Italy don't suit you, you can always try vanilla rose, pinenut, or avacodo. Of course there are fifty different flavors of chocolate and vanilla but who wants to look at those when you have....
Rose, violet, poppies, and lavender to try.
Had to get the cactus flavor too. Didn't try it and doesn't look like many have. Fig doesn't look that good either. We had the mango yesterday and think we died and went to heaven. It tasted just like pureed rie mangoes. I wish they shipped. We might be tempted to order.
The remains of St. Reparate in the cathedral in Place Rossetti.
We found a cookie and candy shop we couldn't pass up. We were just going to take a look, but a few pounds later, we were out of there. Do you think Tanner is happy?
On the walk home, Tanner pointed these out to me. He said the women on the side of those lanterns look like The Statue of Liberty. The Statue of Liberty was crafted by french sculpture Frederic Auguste Bartholdi with the help of Alexandre Gustave Eifell. He designed the Hotel Negresco dome down the street, remember?
