Prince Rainer III ascended to the throne in 1949. He became world famous when he married the academy award winning actress Grace Kelly in this cathedreal dedicated St. Nicholas.
Built in 1875, the cathedral is Byzantine and not highly decorated, but the architecture is stunning.
Tanner wanted to see what it was like to stand in a confessional.
Todd said I needed to stand in the confessional.
Views of the cathedral.
Behind the main alter, all the Princes of Monaco are buried. This is the tomb of Pirnce Rainer III.
Today, Monaco still stands as a proud monarchy with Prince Albert II as its head of state, son of Princess Grace of Monaco and Prince Rainer. The Grimaldi family has been ruling Monaco for over 700 years.
Princess Grace is buried next to Prince Rainer, and is still a much loved Princess.
Waiting for our train tour around Monaco to start.
I couldn't help it but when I say this, all I could think was, "Oh, don't be such a big baby." This is part of an art display in the Aquarium museum across the street.
A view of the Aquarium. When we entered, Tyler told Todd that this was way better than The David. He meant the aquarium and not the giant baby out front.
