Another of my favorite authors, Alexandre Dumas, who penned The Count of Monte Cristo and The Three Musketeers is buried here.
Leaving the crypt after honoring some of the world's greatest minds.
Brittany had me take this one of the way out. It is meant to indicate the boys bathroom. She liked it because she thougth it was funny that the boys room was named after 'hommies'. I told her the spelling was different but she didn't care. Hommes or hommies, it's all the same.
This is the day Todd wished we were not on vacation. He is so sick and so thrilled to be in a museum. He can't even hide his discontent. I am blaming it on the sickness and not the over a month of 24-7 family time. We never have to have FHE again after this trip.
Another view of the dome and architecture.
A little church off to the side of The Pantheon. Everything is beautiful here.
A partial view of The Hotel des Invalides. You can see Napoleon's Tomb creeping up out of the background.
This was the home to 4,000 plus veterans built by Loius XIV.
The window turrets are in the shape of soldiers with their armour, a fun sidenote that you had to look closely to notice.
The boys riding some of the hundred or so cannons on display.
This dome that covers Napoleon's Tomb is shelled in 26 pounds of thinly pounded gold leaf. The break in the clouds gives just enough sunlight to prove it.
In the hospital currently is one of Europe's greatest military museum's.
Tyler is drooling over the triple threat, a gun that has three barrels. He had just been joking about something like that and low and behold, he found it. Little boys and big boys dream place. Todd doesn't look much different than Tyler in this picture.
A closer shot. I would hate to encounter this gun. I think I could even make my mark with this.
