Streets of Rome
Piazza Navona. The plan for this piazza was the same as Circus Mximus. Originally built in the first century for athletic contests and chariot races, Piazza Navona was laid out in the fifteenth century on ruins of the stadium. From 1650 to the late 1800's the stadium was flooded in the summer time for aquatic games and staged naval battles. The Egyptian obelisk above was originally housed in Circus Maximus but later moved here. Now the square is filled with shops, apartments, and restaurants.

Tyler loves it too.
Outside the best Gelati in Rome, or so Marco thinks, just north of the Pantheon.
The front of the Pantheon, each of those columns are one-piece granite columns shipped from Egypt, the biggest in Italy. The doors are the original bronze doors.
The caribinieri were in full force today. A huge demonstration in the streets of Rome that made internationl news was occuring. This dome astonished architects through the ages. It is 142 feet high and wide and was Europe's biggest until the Renaissance.
