The Galleria is a very high end shopping center off The Duomo Piazza carrying such stores are Prada, Louis Vutton, Georgio Armani, ect. I wished our malls looked this good.

A statue of Leonardo Da Vinci outside the Scala Opera House. Da Vinci spent time in Milan starting from 1482 until the fall of the city to the french in 1499. One of Da Vinci's most famous paintings, The Last Supper, is housed in a church in Milan. So many choices, so little time.

The world famous Scala Opera House.

The family is standing outside the Castello Sforzesco. Before it belonged to the Sforza family who ruled the city in the second half of the fifteenth century, the castle was the old Visconti fortress. This was enlarged and embellished by The Sforza's to create the castle.

This was a massive fortress. We are just inside the main gates to the castle. This is the first courtyard.

A view of one of the towers.

Part of the expansion included this area which currently is used as a park. In fact, Todd played basketball in the park 25 years ago on his P-day as a missionary. Its original purpose was a walled hunting park stocked with game from Lake Como and Seprio, not far away.

We took our last train ride for the day and ended up in a little mountain side off of Lake Como in a picturesque town called Fiumelatte.

Yah, the little old lady that saw us get off the train started laughing. We didn't know why until we started down this hillside covered in pebblestone steps. These are the times we are glad we only have as much luggage as we do.
