This is in the baths. The bath houses were the central location for socializing. The first rooms were for exercise, you could get massages, and the best part was bathing with your neighbors... all naked. Today there is still not an Italian word for privacy. All of these structures were covered in marble. The walls and floors were heated through hot water flowing through pipes in the walls.
