A lot of the cathedral's and churches require appropriate dress to enter, not just the big cathedrals. So, in order to be appropriate, we had to buy Brittany this scarf in front of The Duomo in Florence. It has come in real handy and is kept in the camera bag just in case we see something special on a sign and the artifact resides in a church. You cannot have pants above your knees or your shoulders exposed. This is better than the plastic bag she had to wear in the crypts in Florence.

On the steps of the cathedral in Siena.
We had time to kill at dinner because the Europeans have no concept of eat and run. We have realized that we need to enjoy our food more and our time around the table better. As we were waiting for our meal, the kids were sharing what they called their "smolder" looks with one another. We caught a couple of them on camera. This is Tyler's "smolder" look. Now if that doesn't make the girls swoon.
Tanner has a sideways "I've gotcha" look.
Brittany says she doesn't have an ounce of smolder in her and couldn't keep a straight face to save her life.
Kylie thinks this is all silly and won't be documented with her look.
This is Dad's smoldering look but the kids said it bordered on the "whisper scream" look more. He's a simple guy, and like the Italians have one word that covers many meanings, Dad has one look that covers many things. Now I know why I always think I am in trouble. I don't know the difference either.
I think they all are funny and gave up on my smolder look years ago.
Now that's a happy guy.
Check please, we are done.
We were looking everywhere and the bakeries don't really sell cakes like we have in the States. We happened upon one that had the closest we were going to get. The gentleman gave us napkins and gelato spoons to eat the cake with.
Happy Birthday Tanner. The sweet end to a sweet day in Tuscany Italy.
