June 22: Day trip to Siena. We actually were plannig to spend another day in Florence but due to logistical complications, we spent a night in Siena instead and we were so glad. Just an hour train trip outside of Florence takes you to this hill town. Hill town it is. Once we get off the train, we took ten escalators in a row. Yes, ten escalators. We were in luck, only one was broken. We broke out a sweat after lugging our luggage up just that one. I can't imagine what it was like when you had to take just stairs up to this little town.
