Ty Guy being cool.
Like I said, everything is done by boat. I am not sure what this barge is carrying, but the guy on the front is sure enjoying his gelato.
The word ghetto is not a nice word today, but the original word came from an Italian word "geto" which meant copper foundry and is located in Venice. In 1516, this area was set aside as the local Jewish quarter and becaues it was located by this foundry it was given the name geto. The island in Venice became a densely populated, close knit business and cultural community consisting of two six-story buildings, the tallest buildings on that side of the canal. Now, at least in Italy, the term is used to mean neighborhoods. We stayed in the Traghetto neighborhood S.Samuele.
