A church on the way to the Spanish steps. There is one on every corner.
The Spanish Steps have been a hangout for many Romantics over the years. In fact the poet John Keats died in the hotel just to the south of this picture. The sinking boat fountain we are in front of was built by Bernini or his father and is powered by an aqua duct like all of Rome's waterworks.
These are the Spanish Steps at Piazza di Spagna. The piazza is named for the Spanish Embassy to the Vatican, which has been here for 300 years. Since the Vatican is a separate state, it has its own Embassies separate from the ones that service Italy itself.
This is the coolest Nasoni yet.

More of The Forum Ruins. Look at the size of the people and you will get an appreciation of the grandeur of these buildings. No wonder Rome was so intimidating. These were the columns that helped ring the big central square.
This is one of the arches you would enter The Forum through if you were coming into town.
Written in Latin, these shows the place where Peter and Paul were imprisoned right to the west of the forum.

By the arch in The Forum.
The fountain at Piazza Navona in the evening, gotta love the night life of Europe.

Buona Sera! This picture is taken right outside our door in Florence.
