Todd enjoying a little alone time.

A nighttime view of Veranna. We walk there each day to get groceries, ice cream, or just enjoy the lake.

A nighttime view of Menaggio, across the lake from Varenna.

Tanner trying to get rid of his tan lines. If you look closely you can see them.  He came up with this all himself. I think he found them after he showered and was wondering why his ribs were showing. Yes, only the boys have lost weight, all of them. He lasted about 20 minutes. It got a little too hot and a little too boring.

Not foaming at the moment, but this river, the shortest in Italy is called Fiumelatte. The name means milk river. Most of the time, the water appears as a creamy white mixture. The source is unknown. The water comes out of a hole in the a rock and the water only flows from March to October. It's a puzzle even Leonardo Da Vinci couldn't figure out when he came to see the wonder.

Taking a walk to Varenna. The sidewalks are narrow if they exist at all. Drivers speed by and you have to be paying attention.

Lake Como is a glacial lake formed in the last ice age and originating in Lombardy, Italy. It is the third largest lake in Italy. At over 400 meters deep, it is one of the deepest lakes in Europe, over 200 feet deeper than sea level. Regarded as one of the most beautiful lakes in Italy, Como has been the playground for the rich and famous since Roman times. I like its shape too, a "Y".

Since it is glacier run-off, it is freezing water. Ty was proud of himself that he made it to this rock. I, on the other hand, have just gotten a toe in. It is really cold.

This is where you enter the lake. These are called beaches. We found on a little bigger a little farther down. This one had about three rocks. My idea of a beach is a little different than the Northern Italians idea of a beach.
